Winter Respite
My dear husband gave me the most awesome gift for Christmas this year. He bought me an airline ticket to visit my "Snow-Bird" parents in Palm Springs, CA for a week! I had a wonderful time - sunshine and warm weather combined with a great visit with Mom and Dad made for a relaxing break in the middle of a cold winter.
We met our good friend Gina (from Gilbert, AZ) halfway and had a nice long lunch and got caught up on each other's lives. My folks pretty much adopted Gina when she lived in Yakima, so it was like a little family reunion there at Rosita's Mexican Restaurant in Blythe, CA. Great times!
Since then, both of the men in my life (my son and my husband) have celebrated birthdays ... my son's (22nd) makes me feel old. My husband's (can't say which - I'd get in trouble!) makes me feel young! They are good men and I am blessed to be so loved and well taken care of by them both. Add in the delightful friendship of my daughter ... well, I can see the Providence of God all around me!
'Tis the season for counting my blessings!
